The translation services offered cover a broad spectrum of subjects including Humanities and Social Sciences, Education, Human Rights, Government and Political Affairs, Geopolitics and Negotiation, International Relations, and Arts and Culture. I work with brochures and pamphlets, articles, press releases, books, audio and audiovisual files, and web content, inter alia.
In need of some creative assistance with the writing process, or with the proofreading and revision of a completed text? Whether you are in the earlier stages of drafting a text and would like some support, or you have the near-finished product and need a fresh pair of eyes to look over it and make sure it is free of grammatical, spelling, typographic, structural and other errors, Beegee Ink is your answer.
At times, when we are in the initial process of drafting a text, we find ourselves feeling stuck or experiencing writer's block. Whether you are struggling to put your ideas to paper and would like assistance with brainstorming, or simply do not have the time to write, Beegee Ink can give shape and form to your writing endeavors.
Have you ever reread something you wrote and cringed at grammatical or typographical mistakes you inadvertently overlooked? It can happen to the best of us. Beegee Ink will ensure that your writing meets stylistic and other guidelines and that all your I’s and T’s are dotted and crossed, so to speak. Especially if English is not your native tongue, it can really make a difference to have a experienced proofreader and reviser look over your writing.
Do you need the recording of that long interview or meeting you conducted transcribed efficiently in a jiffy? Or assistance converting the content of an audiovisual file into written form so you can incorporate subtitles into that video that you are planning to publish online? Transcription, which entails the conversion of an audio/audiovisual file into text format, can be a time-consuming and tedious process, and Beegee Ink consistently delivers accurate transcription services. Once the file is transcribed, I can also caption your audiovisual content in accordance with established subtitling guidelines and conventions.

“When I first contacted Arlette I was needing someone that could both translate some texts from Portuguese to English and also, as I was applying to 3 different Graduate programs in NYC, could adapt and format my writing to the purpose of the essays. Working with her was not only a pleasure but also made me learn a lot about English language, writing, vocabulary. She is The Best.”
“I sought Arlette’s expertise as a translator when I was in dire need of help with the translation of a script for a documentary that had been accepted into a film festival in Cannes. It was a very tight deadline, but Arlette delivered! The Poet and the Filmmaker were both extremely happy with the end product. The documentary was received well in France thanks to Arlette’s exceptional work.”
“I had an old dream of getting a master’s degree abroad. I knew it’d be decisive in my career and I also felt it’d be an incredible personal experience. In different moments, this dream seemed to be unreachable. I doubted myself, especially about my ability to communicate in English — it was a kind of trauma. Arlette helped me to shape my writing in an academic language, but more than that, she gave me the ultimate strength I needed.””
““I have come to know Arlette’s character and academic and professional work unusually well over the two last years. I have had the pleasure of discussing my book on Cornel West, which she translated from French to English, with her, and am very impressed by her interpersonal and academic skills. She oversaw, reinterpreted, and organized my book, carefully considering important connections between my argumentation in French and skillfully incorporating her own perspective into the discussion. She was able to approach my book in the interdisciplinary fashion that is vital to a broader understanding of the fine nuances and diversity of philosophy, sociology and politics.
Moreover, her creativity, energy and maturity make her a pleasure to have as a translator and more importantly, as a colleague. Arlette is highly self-motivated, dedicated, driven, and passionate.””

In a nutshell, I am a multicultural, multilingual, globetrotting professional who has lived on four continents and has a love for learning and languages.
Born into an intercultural family and raised in the diverse and multilingual international community of Ethiopia’s bustling capital city, Addis Ababa (headquarters of the African Union and often referred to as Africa’s Capital), I came to understand the importance of language and communication skills at a very young age. In addition to speaking English and Amharic at home, I started learning French in middle school and eventually went on to double-major in French and Anthropology/Sociology at Randolph-Macon Woman’s College in Lynchburg, Virginia. I then completed an M.A. in French Cultural Studies in a Global Context at Columbia University’s Reid Hall in Paris, France.
I have always had a passion for learning, researching, reading, words, and languages, and after several years of exploring varied career paths, I have decided to focus on my research and language skills.
If you would like to send me a review for the work I have done, that would be greatly appreciated. Please fill out the form above and state "Testimonial" in the 'subject' field. Thanks again for your support!
